Login to the Azure portal: https://portal.azure.com
Navigate to More Services from the left tile.
In the search input section, type App Services and choose the same.
Select the appropriate App Service from the list. [In this example, it is techsignapp].
Under techsignapp options, navigate to Settings and select.
Under Settings, navigate to Scale out (App Service Plan) and select.
Select the Enable autoscale.
In the Configure section, provide the Autoscale setting name and select Resource group.
Under the default scale option,
- Scale Mode: Scale based on a metric
- By default, the rule will be available for CPU utilization percentage of 70%.
- Incase to add another rule, choose + Add a rule.
- Instance Limits:
- Minimum: 1
- Maximum: 4 [For this example, using maximum to 4 instances]
- Default: 1
In the scenario, to add auto-scaling on a schedule basis, click on + Add a scale condition.
All the options are same as above section “Default Scale”. Only change is enabling the schedule either on Specific Start/end dates or Repeat Specific Days.
Specific Start/end dates : Provide the start and end dates for this auto-scaling function.
Repeat Specific Days : Check the days and specify the time.
Click on Save for commit the changes.
Check the Notifications bar for the status.
