Add a Data Connection to the App Service (SQL Database)

Login to the Azure portal: https://portal.azure.com
Navigate to More Services from the left tile.

In the search input section, type App Services and choose the same.

Select the appropriate App Service from the list. [In this example, it is techsignapp].

Under techsignapp options, navigate to Mobile and select Data Connections.

Currently, No data connections are available to the App Service.

Choose + Add to add a data connection.

Under Add data connection section, choose the Type as SQL Database.

Expand the SQL Database section.

Choose the SQL Database.

Note: If there are no databases listed, select Create a new database and click here.
Expand the Connection string section.

Specify the Connection string name, SQL Admin Username and SQL Admin Password.

Select OK to validate the parameters.
Select OK to commit changes.
Check the Notifications bar for the status.

Once the Data Connection added, go back to Data Connections tab.

To know the Connection string value. Select the Connection name.

Click on the Show connection string value.

Note: This Connection string value will be used in the application to access the database.
